Job description

The project supports the Ministries of Forestry and Environment in Cameroon in the implementation of their national programs. Leading within the green sector, the project provides a qualitative contribution to the sustainable protection of natural resources, the climate and the preservation of Biodiversity in Cameroon. A key contribution is the consolidation of methodological approaches and models to ensure inclusive, sustainable and climate-sensitive management of Cameroon's environment and forest resources by local stakeholders in selected communities and to contribute to value creation. The program's advisory services are provided especially at regional and local level and are aimed at both ministry staff and representatives of communities, civil society and the private sector.

Your tasks

  • Collaborate in advising the cooperation partners on content-related and conceptual questions of communication, of their monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system and of digitalization
  • Support the improvement of the project's process design of the communication and of the M&E system and implement and support the demand oriented reporting formats
  • Prepare, conduct, advice/supervise the necessary studies and surveys in the field to support the project’s communication and monitoring & evaluation system
  • Assist with the advice of the project management in communication and its M&E system
  • Assist with the adviceof the project management on digital transformation, its topics, feasible solutions and tools
  • Design & co create the projects approach within the framework of gender-based digital divide
  • Support with internal and external communication
  • Process methodological approaches and best practice; knowledge management

Your profile

  • Completed business school or university studies in the field of financial analysis or social sciences or comparable courses
  • First relevant experience in international cooperation / development cooperation specifically in the Congo Basin or West and Central Africa
  • First relevant and practical experience in forestry value chains development and/or management of forest resources, and monitoring, communication & digitalization processes in the sector
  • First relevant and practical experience in M&E in the sector including of green business models, preparing and conducting qualitative data collection, analysis & interpretation, planification process (within a project and/or with stakeholders)
  • Professional certificate in conception, analytical and digital skills as well as high advisory competence in the fields of digitalization in development; applications, research and analysis, data collection; cloud based, Kobo tool box, GPS, data analysis; excel, google sheets, SQL and data visualization; QGIS, tableau, PowerBI as well as other certifications of proven (self-)studies linking these fields with the management of natural resources above all, are considered an asset
  • High level of communication and intercultural competence, adaptable, polyvalent, result-orientated, able and willing to work in a team
  • Business fluent in French and English
