Our Offer

The project advises the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on advancing India’s clean energy transition and strengthening cooperation between German development cooperation and Indian institutions. The advisory services focus in particular on scalable renewable energy solutions, modernisation of the energy system, and approaches that contribute to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity under the Indo-German Energy Programme. In addition, the project supports MNRE in operationalising key reform areas, designing implementation structures, and further developing strategies based on emerging learning experiences. To record and evaluate the progress and impact of programme activities, it is introducing an overarching system for monitoring and evaluation. The project also contributes to coordinated knowledge management, communication, and reporting within the Indo-German energy cooperation framework. The project is organised into various components. The internship position to be filled is in a shared function to support the components “Technical Advisory to MNRE” and “Monitoring and Evaluation"

Your tasks

  • Support in daily tasks within the framework of technical advisory to MNRE, e.g. preparation of briefs, status updates, presentations, meeting documentation, and coordination inputs.
  • Support for the implementation and further development of the programme-wide monitoring and evaluation system, including data collection, data processing, and preparation of information for reporting and communication with government counterparts.
  • Support in processes related to the use and optimisation of digital tools for programme management, such as databases for tracking renewable energy interventions and digital monitoring dashboards.
  • Support the project’s knowledge management through preparation of information materials, conducting background research, and summarising current developments in India’s renewable energy sector and internal GIZ processes.
  • Support with administrative and organisational tasks, including preparation and follow-up of meetings, missions, events, consultations, progress report to our Commissioning Partner and technical workshops

Your Profile

  • You are studying or about to finish your studies (or Your degree is no longer than 6 months ago) in the field of political sciences, economics or social sciences or a comparable discipline, preferably with a focus on quantitative data analysis.
  • You have initial experience in consulting (in the public sector) or consulting-related activities, e.g. from consulting firms, public affairs agencies, in-house consultancies, think tanks, etc.
  • You have a high affinity for the interface between development cooperation and the private sector with initial work experience in the field (e.g. at companies, associations, development organisations, NGOs, etc.).
  • You have basic knowledge in the areas of monitoring and evaluation and have very good knowledge of Excel. Experience in the collection, analysis and preparation of data is an advantage.
  • Experience with digital query tools and databases is an advantage
  • You have experience in researching, analysing and summarizing information independently; writing comprehensible texts in German and English is easy for you.
  • Personally, you will demonstrate organisational skills and initiative, a quick grasp of things as well as a high level of quality awareness and team orientation. An independent, structured and reliable way of working is particularly important
