Go Circular works worldwide with partners from government, business, and civil society on various aspects of the circular economy. The goal is to maintain the value of products, materials, and resources for as long as possible. The circular economy covers all stages of resource management: from resource extraction and product design to resource-efficient production, as well as reuse, and material recovery. It goes beyond national borders and is essential for the global economy, as well as for environmental and climate protection. Go Circular hosts the secretariat of the PREVENT Waste Alliance, an international think-and-do-tank for circular economy with over 700 members from business, academia, government, and civil society.

Through the EU co-funded programme SWITCH to Circular Economy in Eastern and Southern Africa (SWITCH-2-CE in ESA), Go Circular collaborates with Expertise France on the following topics in the packaging and electronics value chains:

  • The development and implementation of national and regional circular economy strategies
  • Knowledge transfer and training on circular approaches, with a focus on young professionals and entrepreneurs
  • Co-financing of investments in circular business models

Your tasks

Go Circular and PREVENT Waste Alliance:

  • Supporting the organisation and implementation of different PREVENT and Go Circular events
  • PREVENT General Assembly in December 2026
  • PREVENT Leadership Training
  • Making PREVENT AI-ready
  • Support the identification of suitable AI-solutions and tools for PREVENT
  • Support the testing and implementation of these AI-solutions and tools in PREVENT

SWITCH2CEComponent 3: Access to Finance:

  • Pipeline building for GIZ financial instruments (SFF)
  • Support management and improvement of the database
  • Support outreach activities to European companies
  • Activity monitoring
  • Support to coordination of operational plan updates with respective colleagues
  • Monitor activities with colleagues (during JF)
  • Tracking the performance of the contracted FIs under SFF
  • Support to recording challenges experienced by CE companies in accessing SFF and reporting to the advisors
  • Support Capacity Building for financial institutions and investors
  • Support project manager in preparing tender above EU-threshold

Your Profile

Required criteria:

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in business or economics, environmental sciences, engineering sciences or IT management/computer science.
  • You have gained initial international experience through internships, study visits or other stays abroad, ideally in Africa, and have basic knowledge of development cooperation.
  • You are fluent in German and English; Knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • You have the ability to familiarize yourself quickly and comprehensively with new topics.
  • You have strong analytical skills as well as very good written expression.
  • You have skills in the field of Circular Economy (e.g. Electronics / Plastics).
  • You have skills in the field of data processing (e.g. Excel / databases).
  • You enjoy working in a team as well as efficiently, carefully and self-organized.
