Tätigkeitsbereich

India aims to achieve 500 gigawatts of renewable energy (RE) capacity by 2030. However, inadequate electricity grids, supply bottlenecks and untapped potential for solar and wind energy are hindering expansion. The project advises India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on expanding the use of wind turbines and photovoltaics on roofs and on modernising older systems. It supports efforts to improve local solar supply chains. It advises on reforms, network expansion, digital tools for network operators and promoting women in RE to counter the shortage of skilled labour.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Exchange and cooperation with project partners and stakeholders in Germany and India;
  • Research, analysis and preparation of specialist topics on the topic of renewable energies, offshore wind and gender promotion;
  • Support in the preparation of contracts incl. budgets;
  • Support in the design and organisation of dialogue events and workshops with partner countries and institutions;
  • content-related support in the preparation of specialist events;
  • Support in the planning, implementation and follow-up of events and project initiation trips in Germany;
  • Support in everyday project management tasks (e.g. preparation and follow-up of internal work meetings);
  • Support in public relations, project reports to Commissioning authority, final reports and external communication (e.g. infographics and studies)

Ihr Profil

  • Completed bachelor's degree or ongoing master's degree in engineering, geosciences, political sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, communication sciences, international relations or comparable courses of study
  • Knowledge in the fields of renewable energies and energy efficiency projects desirable
  • Initial professional experience in the areas of project/event management and public relations desirable
  • Initial professional experience (including internships or auxiliary activities) in GIZ's partner countries is an advantage, as is the ability to work in an intercultural environment
  • Good conceptual and analytical skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Fluent in German and English
