As an integral internal service provider within GIZ, the Data Service Center (DSC) offers comprehensive data services and advice to international cooperation projects. Our services encompass support in data collection, management, and analysis for various purposes, including impact monitoring, project planning, geospatial analysis, and data sharing. By delivering these services, the DSC significantly contributes to GIZ's overarching goal of fostering data-based decision-making solutions and capacities for projects and partner institutions worldwide.

The DSC has recently implemented substantial internal changes to update its workflow and knowledge management structures. A critical aspect of this transformation is a role-based concept with specific mandates for areas such as service delivery, procurement, partnerships, and people operations. Complementing this, the team utilizes an agile approach for resource planning and strategic alignment. To support this change process, the DSC is seeking a motivated working student to assist in implementing structural changes in the DSC’s workflow and knowledge management and to support overarching processes as well as communication.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Support in maintaining the DSC’s workflow and knowledge management structure, which is mainly implemented within the MS365 environment and Azure DevOps
  • Support the DSC’s SCRUM Master in maintaining an agile work method
  • Organize and facilitate digital & hybrid events by supporting the planning, moderation, and technical setup of with internal and external speakers. Facilitate meetings by preparing agendas, documenting outcomes, and managing follow-up
  • Engage in various communication tasks, both within the DSC and of the entire unit (Competence Center Digital Societies) to enhance visibility within the organization, including updating internal information pages, back-end documents or creating presentations
  • Support Digital Community Platforms & knowledge sharing by maintaining and updating the ".digital Gateway" knowledge platform, including content and minor technical adjustments. Assist with MS Teams community management through moderation, user interaction, and the development of small engagement formats
  • Support the measurement of DSC’s impact by analyzing data and creating KPIs and corresponding visuals
  • Contribute to the standardization of DSC’s service delivery processes and support in operative tasks and tendering goods and services (e.g. draft documents, create shortlists, assessment of bids)
  • Assist DSC colleagues in their roles by updating resources (e.g., conceptboards, MS Teams documents), assisting in compliance processes, managing tasks on MS Planner, designing information materials, and proofreading

Ihr Profil

  • University-level degree (Bachelor or Master) in Communication/Media Studies, Business Administration/Management (with a focus on Marketing, Event, or Project Management), Public Relations/Journalism, Social Sciences or a related field of study, or comparable qualifications through relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Very good communication skills in German and English; proficiency in French is an asset
  • Basic project management skills, especially in an agile and international work environment, are an advantage
  • Experience in using MS365 tools (e.g. MS Teams, Planner, SharePoint)
