Tätigkeitsbereich

The Network International Cooperation in Conflicts and Disasters (NICD) serves as a global sector network for GIZ projects working on aspects of conflict, violence, displacement, disaster risk management, and security while it is also a context network for all projects working in environments affected by conflict, fragility and violence.
NICD supports the exchange between GIZ employees from all world regions and relevant units in head office on sectoral topics and project experiences as well as on the contextual challenges of working in fragile and conflict-affected partner countries. The network uses different analog and digital formats, for instance thematic working groups, workshops, webinars and conferences. In 2025 the network is organizing its network conference to foster peer exchange and joint learning for all its members. The conference is termed “Beyond the tipping points” – planetary and social tipping points.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Support the core team in planning and implementation of the Conference
  • Support the core team in overall organization and logistical tasks e.g. registration of participants, preparation of venue
  • Support the core team in daily operation throughout the assignment period, especially during the conference days
  • Support the core team in conference documentation and evaluation
  • Support the core team in developing PR and Communication materials
  • Support the core team in knowledge management and sector network activities
  • Assist in any other unforeseen tasks that may arise.

Ihr Profil

  • A university degree in political or social sciences or a comparable discipline, ideally with a focus on peace and security
  • Knowledge and ideally initial experience in international cooperation
  • Initial experience in event management
  • Organisational and analytical skills as well as a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work in a team
  • Willingness and ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics and work processes
  • Very good written and spoken English; understanding and basic written knowledge of German; knowledge of another language (esp. French or Spanish) would be an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of common MS Office applications
