Job description

The GIZ Civil Peace Service (CPS) program in Ukraine and Moldova focuses on a positive approach to diversity and on reducing prejudices and stereotypes. It aims to support social cohesion in Ukraine and Moldova by supporting peace education, MHPSS, dialogue, conflict-sensitive media work and promoting non-violent conflict transformation. The CPS programs in Ukraine and Moldova cooperate with civil society as well as with state institutions.

Your tasks

  • Play a key role in strategic and operational planning of the CPS program and projects in Ukraine and Moldova
  • Work closely together with and provide advise to CPS technical advisors on project level
  • Assess the capacities of local partner organizations, related to impact-oriented and conflict-sensitive PM&E, and provide advice and trainings on Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PM&E) for partner organizations
  • Co-organize and co-facilitate joint PM&E workshops with CPS colleagues and partners
  • Enhance the integration of cross-cutting topics like do-no-harm, human rights, gender equality and participatory approaches in all PM&E processes
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in the field of monitoring and evaluation, including proposal writing and annual reporting
  • Contribute to the knowledge management of the CPS team and CPS headquarters
  • Take part in regular global PM&E advisor meetings and supports its learning community

Your profile

  • University degree in social or political science, peace and conflict studies, education, or psychology (or equivalent)
  • Certified qualification in the fields of peace work (Do-No-Harm, Reflecting on Peace Practice, Peace and Conflict Analysis) and/or in the field of planning, monitoring and evaluation; human rights, gender equality and/or participatory approaches
  • A good understanding of peacebuilding and conflict prevention in the context of Ukraine and Moldova
  • Very good skills and proven experience in the facilitation of participatory workshops and training
  • Experience in cooperation with state institutions (ideally in the educational system) as well as non-governmental organizations.
  • Integrative team player, ready for continuous self-reflection, solution oriented, patient, and resilient
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills
  • Business fluent in English and preferably basic knowledge of the Ukrainian/Russian and/or Romanian language
