Job description

GET.transform is a technical assistance programme supporting public sector partners in advancing their energy sector transformations. As an internationally recognised hub of expertise, the programme delivers on key areas of the energy transition: energy planning, on- and off-grid regulation and markets, and renewable energy grid integration. With a particular focus on Africa and Latin America, GET.transform enables partner countries and regions to develop conducive framework conditions for large-scale clean energy deployment. GET.transform is part of the European multi-donor platform Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro), and supported by the European Union, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria. www.get-transform.eu.

Your tasks

The major task as internwill be to support GET.transform’s communication activities.

Work tasks include, in general:

  • Support development of diverse communication materials (e.g., factsheets, presentations, illustrations, videos)
  • Draft telling copy for different channels, target groups and formats (e.g. website articles, newsletter items, social media posts)
  • Assist with project management tasks across GET.transform’s workstreams and focal countries (convene internal meetings; update lists, take minutes)
  • Support research and analysis related to energy (e. g. policy, private sector investment, capacity development for energy, job creation, decentral RE, gender) with a focus on Africa
  • Research and procure imagery from external databases, or assist processing/editing image material provided
  • Liaise with service providers (i.e. web design, printing)

Your profile

  • Study in Communications, Social or Political Sciences, Development/ Energy Studies, or similar
  • An understanding of the role of energy in sustainable development and climate change mitigation
  • An understanding of energy contexts in Africa or Latin America is a plus
  • Profound skills in MS office required (in particular but not limited to PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Graphic design skills (e.g. in Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or other editing software) are a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in German, French or Spanish is a plus
